About J. Stevens Bloodstock
Josh Stevens is a Graduate of the University of Louisville, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Equine Industry with a minor in Finance. He grew up going to Churchill Downs with his family, and always had an obsession with racing. He completed the Kentucky Equine Management Internship in December of 2010, and continued his employment under Steve Johnson at Margaux Farm after the internship working to build the Margaux training program while also handling nominations, sales, and client development. After 4 very successful years at Margaux, Josh branched out to form his own management and consulting firm. J. Stevens Bloodstock provides a complete range of bloodstock services with a focus on managing the client's complete program. Josh is very interested in cultivating new owners and helping them through the learning stages of Thoroughbred ownership. Josh is an active industry participant as a member of the KTA's Vision 20/20 group and a board adviser for Equisight.
Josh's farm experience has taught him what is necessary in raising a superior racehorse from foaling to training, each aspect equally important. His experience in starting and training young horses has helped him develop an understanding for what flaws horses can overcome and how to successfully manage different individuals so that each horse has the best chance to be successful. His philosophies are built around time, patience, and value; all are important aspects to a successful program.
J. Stevens Bloodstock does business with some of the best farms in Central Kentucky. These resources allow the clients to truly do best by the horse. These farms have the facilities for horses to freshen, train, mature, and thrive on some of the best pasture Kentucky has to offer.
